Patwardhan Medical Devices makes photomicrography equipment in Mulund West, Mumbai. The motto is innovation, ease, and simplicity. Dr. Sanjeev Patwardhan, pathologist, directs research and production. Dr. Mrinalini Patwardhan, clinical biochemist, directs administration, sales, and service.

Smart MicroVision NX is the current adaptor: a phone or tablet on a standard binocular microscope, as a practical alternative to a dedicated camera attachment or digital microscope. Work began with a homemade mount in 2015.

Design draws on more than 25 years in laboratory medicine. Engineers Mukund, Jayant, and Vilas contributed. Colleagues at Patho-India, APPI, VMMC, and the Thane pathologists group supported the work.

Path-Snap is an Android app by Dr. Anan Jaiswal, with clinical input from Dr. Sanjeev Patwardhan. It is not supplied with NX. Path-Snap.
